-:School Project:- Pride

This is my school project I worked on last trimester in my Computer Digital Art Class. It was pretty fun. I learned a TON about Photoshop/Director (animating program) even though we only did two major projects, this being one. My animation was the other.

My name WAS on the picture, but for MY and YOUR sakes, I took it off. :'D Unfortunately, it also cropped off part of the bottom lion's tail/paws. Oh, and my scanner ruined how it looks. :\ It's crisp otherwise.

Uhhhmm... This was inspired by my love for cats (duh) and because I was braindead and didn't know what else to do. My original idea was an Indian Village with an aerial perspective, but... Uhm... Yeah, I don't know how to draw teepees. :'D

My teacher gave me ('scuse) hell on this picture. Every time I would ask "is this okay", "do I need to fix/improve on something", he would always say they were alright. Well when I finally finished the dang thing, saved it, had it on one big layer (this had 18 layers, btw) he was like "Oh, you need to fix this and this and this" which required me to do very careful work.

Besides that, I'm not sure if this is my first printout (BEFORE he told me that I had things wrong with it) or my second (with my fixings). I'm too lazy to go find the fixed one if it's not. They're not really big changes anyway. Shading issues if anything. Hum...

Things I love about this picture:
-The damn tree. I can't tell you HOW long I spent on the tree. Shading, deleting the shading, reshading... It was a very hard, tedious process that left me feeling PRETTY respectful of trees. o_o *headbash*
-Another thing? The grass. XD One class period is 70 minutes. I spent /80/ on the grass. The kid next to me kept laughing at me because I was doing individual strokes for the grass. I eventually got fed up and just made a bunch of squiggles. XD
-Bottom lion because I did a TON of work on it.

Things I do not like:
-The lions' shading. The teacher kept telling me to do fur and I was like "wtf, you can't see a lions' fur" and we just had this argument about it. o_o I think I just screwed around with the dodge/burn tool until he finally said "if you like it..." and with that, I was complete. XD
-The sky... because that's secretly a gradient covering the ENTIRE picture. I was too lazy to actually color /in/ the sky. :B

In all: I had a ton of fun working on this. I'm taking a more advanced version of the class next year, which is exciting.

Oh... And I got a 94% out of 100% on this picture. <3
